Heart of England Does Country at Burford School

For the very first time, Heart of England does Country, and a wonderful experience it was.  Barry, Margaret, Danny and Joan laid on an action packed weekend for us.  Friday evening provided an opportunity to catch up with fellow members and get a little sight of some of the costumes that were very much “in theme”.  Saturday dawned bright and a stroll through Burford took most of the day, well some of the shops and antique centers took most of the  day!  The Ho Down started in the evening when the Marshal (Barry), in more ways than one, hosted a very varied evening of entertainment and a wonderful 4 course meal.  The “horse” races were one of the highlights of the evening, but Sue’s line dancing left most of us feeling that a session on Strictly Come Dancing would have been much easier! There were a number of wonderful Country and Western fancy dresses but for me, Liz’s Indian (or should I say Native American) took the prize for best dress of the night.  A very big thank you to all of our hosts for a very memorable weekend and to Burford School for providing the venue.
