Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to create a Web site that provides the information that current and potential members might require. We have tried to provide the answers to most of your questions in the web site, and this page provides a summary of the questions that we frequently get asked. If you still have any questions, please contact one of the founder members of the club. Please see Contact Us.

Who is eligible to join the Heart of England Caravan and Camping Club?

Anyone who has an interest in caravanning and camping in the Heart of England.

Do I need to be a member before attending a rally?

Yes, you must be a member for at least 24 hours before the start of a rally and you must have your membership disc when you attend a rally in order for us to comply with our exemption certificates.

Do I need to book before attending a rally?

The majority of our rallies do not require you to book in advance, although it helps the marshals if you give them a call to let them know that you are likely to be attending their rally. This also enables you to check that there have not been any last minute change of plans.

There are a few rallies that do require pre-booking. These are usually holiday rallies or rallies where space is limited. They are clearly indicated in your rally folder and on the appropriate pages of the web site.

Do I need any special equipment to attend a rally?

A number of our rallies are on unlicensed sites and they provide only basic facilities such as water and an elsan point. You therefore need to have your own sanitation facilities to attend these rallies.

Are electric hook-ups available on rallies?

Some of the rally sites used and most of the commercial sites that we use do provide electric hook-ups, but others do not.  The availability of electric hook-ups will be detailed in the rally folder and on the web site. We try to book some of the early and late season rallies where electric hook-ups are available.

Do I have to join in all the activities provided on rallies?

No, all of the activities on a rally are optional so you can join in whatever you wish, although for some of our members, the friendship and company of other members is part of the pleasure of rallying.
